集裝箱租賃是指集裝箱租賃公司與承租人，一般為海運班輪公司，鐵路、公路運輸公司等，簽訂協議，用長期或短期的方式把集裝箱租賃給承租人的一種租賃方式。在協議執行期間，箱體由承租人管理使用，承租人負責對箱體進行維修保養，確保避免滅失。堆場對損壞的箱體按協議中規定的技術標準修復，修理費用由承租人承擔。承租人按照協議向租箱公司承付提還箱費及租金。
